A probabilistic position value

In this article, we generalize the position value, defined by Meessen (1988) for the class of deterministic communication situations, to the class of generalized probabilistic communication situations (G´omez et al. (2008)). We provide two characterizations of this new allocation rule. Following in Slikker’s (2005a) footsteps, we characterize the probabilistic position value using probabilistic versions of component eciency and balanced link contributions. Then we generalize the notion of link potential, defined by Slikker (2005b) for the class of deterministic communication situations, to the class of generalized probabilistic communication situations, and use it to characterize our allocation rule. Presence of the fungus-growing ant Mycetophylax morschi (Hymenoptera, Formicidae) in a valuable area of pampas grassland in a mountainous area in the southeast of Buenos Aires province, Argentina

The genus Mycetophylax belongs to the subfamily Myrmicinae, tribe Attini, and is one of the lesser-known genera of fungus-growing ants. Of the three Mycetophylax species, only M. morschi was cited for Argentina. This species is also well represented in various coastal locations with sandy beaches in eastern Brazil. The present work represents the second record of the species for the Province of Buenos Aires and for Argentina and the first collection record of this species in a grassland placed in a mountainous environment.Fil: Arcusa, Juan Manuel. Cyanate Assimilation by the Alkaliphilic Cyanide-Degrading Bacterium Pseudomonas pseudoalcaligenes CECT5344: Mutational Analysis of the cyn Gene Cluster

The alkaliphilic bacterium Pseudomonas pseudoalcaligenes CECT5344 can grow with cyanate, cyanide, or cyanide-containing industrial residues as the sole nitrogen source, but the assimilation of cyanide and cyanate takes place through independent pathways. Therefore, cyanide degradation involves a chemical reaction between cyanide and oxaloacetate to form a nitrile that is hydrolyzed to ammonium by the nitrilase NitC, whereas cyanate assimilation requires a cyanase that catalyzes cyanate decomposition to ammonium and carbon dioxide. The P. pseudoalcaligenes CECT5344 cynFABDS gene cluster codes for the putative transcriptional regulator CynF, the ABC-type cyanate transporter CynABD, and the cyanase CynS. In this study, transcriptional analysis revealed that the structural cynABDS genes constitute a single transcriptional unit, which was induced by cyanate and repressed by ammonium. Mutational characterization of the cyn genes indicated that CynF was essential for cynABDS gene expression and that nitrate/nitrite transporters may be involved in cyanate uptake, in addition to the CynABD transport system. Biodegradation of hazardous jewelry wastewater containing high amounts of cyanide and metals was achieved in a batch reactor operating at an alkaline pH after chemical treatment with hydrogen peroxide to oxidize cyanide to cyanate

A social capital index

In this paper we propose a social capital measure for individuals belonging to a social network. To do this, we use a game theoretical approach and so we suppose that these individuals are also involved in a cooperative TU-game modelling the economic or social interests that motivate their interactions. We propose as a measure of individual social capital the difference between the Myerson and the Shapley values of actors in the social network and explore the properties of such a measure. This definition is close to our previous measure of centrality (Gómez et al., 2003) and so in this paper we also study the relation between social capital and centrality, finding that this social capital measure can be considered as a vector magnitude with two additive components: centrality and positional externalities. Finally, several real political examples are used to show the agreement of our conclusions with the reality in these situations

Producción del pimiento con la aplicación de dos fertilizantes orgánicos y tres dosis en la parroquia El Carmen, barrio Angueta Moreno-cantón La Maná, provincia de Cotopaxi

This research was carried out in El Carmen Parish, La Maná Canton. The geographical coordinates are: latitude 698 907 and longitude 9 898 352 with an altitude of 223 m above the sea level in La Maná Canton, Cotopaxi Province. The experimental design to be used is a complete randomized block design, with a number of 7 treatments, including the control; with 4 replications and a number of 28 experimental units. Fertilizers were applied in the plots according to the corresponding treatment, 2.5 kg of humus was applied in the treatment one, 5 kg of humus in the treatment two, 7.5 kg / m2 of humus in the treatment three; 2.5 kg / m2 of hyacinth water in the treatment four, 5 kg of hyacinth water in the treatment five, 7.5 kg / m2 of hyacinth water in the treatment six, and by leaving free of humus to the plot of control....Esta investigación se realizó en la Parroquia El Carmen, Cantón La Maná, coordenadas geográficas 698907 de latitud; y 9898352 de longitud con una altitud de 223 m.s.n.m. en el Cantón La Mana, Provincia de Cotopaxi. El diseño experimental que se utilizó es el diseño de Bloques completamente al azar, con un número de 6 tratamientos, con 4 repeticiones y con un número de 24 unidades experimentales. Players Indifferent to Cooperate and Characterizations of the Shapley Value

n this paper we provide new axiomatizations of the Shapley value for TU-games using axioms that are based on relational aspects in the interactions among players. Some of these relational aspects, in particular the economic or social interest of each player in cooperating with each other, can be found embedded in the characteristic function. We define a particular relation among the players that it is based on mutual indifference. The first new axiom expresses that the payoffs of two players who are not indifferent to each other are affected in the same way if they become enemies and do not cooperate with each other anymore. The second new axiom expresses that the payoff of a player is not affected if players to whom it is indifferent leave the game. We show that the Shapley value is characterized by these two axioms together with the well-known efficiency axiom. Further, we show that another axiomatization of the Shapley value is obtained if we replace t he second axiom and efficiency by the axiom which applies the efficiency condition to every class of indifferent players. Finally, we extend the previous results to the case of weighted Shapley values

Conductas y actitudes hacia la alimentación medidas a través del EDI-2 y el consumo de sustancias

En este artículo se analizan las relaciones entre las conductas y actitudes hacia la alimentación y el uso de sustancias psicoactivas. Se administraron el EDI-2 y un cuestionario de consumo de sustancias a una muestra representativa y aleatoria de 1. 181 estudiantes de ambos sexos de secundaria en un diseño transversal. Se encontraron diferencias significativas en el consumo de sustancias entre grupos extremos definidos en función de las puntuaciones de todas las subescalas del EDI-2, sobre todo en Bulimia, Conciencia Introceptiva, Insatisfacción Corporal, Miedo a la Madurez e Impulsividad. Aparecen perfiles claramente diferentes según el género. Se discuten los resultados a la luz de las distintas teorfas propuestas para explicar la relación entre ambos tipos de comportamientos.The· relafion between eatlng behaviours and attitudes and psychoactive substances use are analyzed. The EDI-2 and a substance consumption questionnaire were administered to a random and representative sample of 1,181 male and female secondary students in a cross-sectional designo Significant differences in drug consumption between extreme groups defined according to all EDI-2 subscales scores were found, especially in Bulimia, Interoceptive Awareness, Body Dissatisfaction, Maturity Fear and Impulse Regulation. Clearly different profiles appear according to gender. The results are discussed in the light of the different theories proposed fo explain the relation between both kinds of behaviours
